New Caledonia Present to National Federations in PNG

National Federations (NFs) met with the delegation from New Caledonia to brief them on the plans for the 2011 Pacific Games in Noumea.

The meeting was held at the Daltron Training Centre at Carpenter house Waigani. 39 Represenatives from various sports were present including Netball, Touch Rugby, Basketball, Tennis, Powerlifting, Disability Sports, Softball, Boxing, Hockey, Rugby League, Surfing, Cricket, Yachting, Judo, Women's and Men's Bowling, Swimming, Archery, Weightlifting, Sailing, Volleyball and Va'a Outrigger Canoeing

The delegation led by Ms Pascale Marie Bastien-Thiry, Chairperson of the organising committee of the 2011 games, Mr David Boyd Secretary General of the Pacific Games Council and Ms Helen Wabete, presented NFs with an overview of New Caledonia and what they can expect in 2011.

Mr Boyd said New Caledonia will do its best to make the games a fair and enjoyable experience for all, adding that no games was the best but the hosting nation could only improve on the last games.

NFs were given the opportunity to raise questions and queries.
