Saturday, November 06, 2010

VASANOC, the country's Pacific Games Association (PGA), has received from the Pacific Games Council, the official invitation to Bid for the 10th Pacific Mini Games in 2017.

The PGC also sent the same document to the other regional PGA's.

The deadline for lodging the Bid with the PGA is Friday 4 March 2011 and the final decision will be taken at the PGC Meeting on Sun 4 September 2011 in New Caledonia during the Pacific Games.

Further to directives from the Government of the day, VASANOC first submitted it's Expression of Interest for Vanuatu to host these Games during the PGC Assembly in 2007 in Samoa.

Further updates were made to the PGC Meetings in 2009 in Cook Islands and 2010 in New Caledonia.

As in hosting the 1993 Mini Games, VASANOC's main partner in the Bid and organization of the event is the Government and if there no such support, VASANOC will not do it alone.
