Oceania Media attend Doha workshop

An additional number of journalists from the Pacific have been invited to attend the Women and Sport workshop jointly organised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Olympic Council of Asia in Doha, Qatar from May 15 and 16.

 

The six journalists from Guam, Vanuatu, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Samoa and Tuvalu will join colleagues from Cook Islands, Vanuatu and PNG for the two day meet.

 

Top speakers from the sporting world such as ANOC and OCA President Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al Sabah, Lydia Nsekera the chair of the IOC Women and Sport Commission, Ganda Sithole General Secretary of ANOCA, and Donna DeVarona, Olympian and Women and Sport Commission member have been invited to speak.

 

Top journalists from the Arab world, AIPS, BBC and Al Jazeera are also part of the mix.

 

Topics focus on women's empowerment, gender equality and women's leadership in 2015 and beyond.
